Well, where do I start? It has been quite the hiatus from blogging. 2024 was certainly a hard year (check out my last Life Lately update) and it only continued to get harder. After that last post, I was laid off from my job that November, though I managed to find a new one right away thankfully, and Jake and I decided to get divorced after years of trying to make it work. Fast forward to now and we’ve sold our house, I’m coming up on a year in my new house (end of May), he’s living basically down the street (~3 miles) in his new house, and we now call Summerville, SC home. We were officially divorced in March 2025, so things moved rather quickly. Thankfully we are very amicable and there was no big mess with lawyers and such. Now I’m just looking forward to what this next chapter has in store – hopefully a lot of positivity!
In August, I left the job I got after being laid off from Boeing because an opportunity to get back into Boeing had come up and thankfully I got it. So I have been back there since November and I am so thankful. It just is a better, more secure situation, and being a single mom managing her own household, having the financial security and benefits is very important.
I’ve done a good bit to my new home already and I can’t wait to share some posts. The kids are adjusting well. Breckin did great in his first season with his new wrestling team. He made it to State, and also was given his school’s “Iron Cobra” award for being the “backbone” of the team. He’s made a lot of good friends as well. Farrah has also made a little group of friends and has just started playing volleyball.
I’ve gotten to travel a bit since the divorce as well. The kids and I went to Idaho to visit my family in April, I took a last-minute trip to Newport Beach, CA to visit an old friend in August, and my mom and I did NYC again in October. The kids and I are headed on a cruise (with my mom meeting us there as well) next week!
In addition to all this newness, I have lost nearly 40 lbs since last November! I am finally feeling like I’m getting back to my old self – the one that was crazy into fitness. The last three years have certainly held a lot of heartache and stress, and I let my fitness fall to the wayside. I am really looking forward to this next chapter, staying positive, working on myself, focusing on my family and career, and making sure to enjoy life in the process.
