DIY Kitchen Cabinet Christmas Wreaths

I’ve always loved the look of Christmas wreaths hanging from big, beautiful ribbons on cabinets and I’ve finally done it for my house!

These were relatively simple to make and cost about $150 in supplies to make 10-12 of them. This includes the set of 12 wreaths (I only needed 10, so I will probably use the other two elsewhere in the house) the Command hooks, the pinecone sprigs (4 for each wreath = 40), and the ribbon. This project could be made cheaper as the sprigs were $1.28 each at Walmart – you could use small ornament balls and hot glue them in, for instance, or if you have them lying around outside, small pinecones! (Just remember to bake them 15-20 min at 350 first to get rid of any bugs!)

For the Command hooks, I hung them on the interior of the cabinet doors in the center. Note that I hung them UPSIDE DOWN! This is what attaches the ribbon to fold over the door. Now that the hooks are in place, they just stay there until next Christmas when I need to hang these again, making this whole process all the quicker.

The wreaths were easy to do. I just stuck the sprigs in evenly on all of them. You can hot glue them in if you want to. The ribbon I made sure to cut in equal lengths so they would all hang evenly on the cabinets. That just simply wrapped through the wreath and I punctured a hole at both ends for the Command hook to go through (again making sure the holes were placed the same on each ribbon so they hung the same length on the cabinets.)

The nice thing about this DIY is that they will now be easy to just throw up there next year since the hard part – the wreath-making, ribbon cutting/measuring and Command hook hanging – is done!

These also would look cute on the back of stools! I would love to know what you think about this project! Please drop a comment below!

Did you use a command strip to hang your wreath on your stainless steel vent hood? If so which one? And it didn’t ruin it or leaps residue? I use them for everything around the house but haven’t tried them on stainless steel.

Hi Mayra! Yes I did use a command strip and no it hasn’t left any residue (Command strips are designed to be easy removal). It’s a great non-permanent option!
